ZAM – Zentrum für Austausch und Machen
Opening weekend with figures and theatre
After three years of renovation and an interim programme, ZAM opens as a creative place for exchange and making together in the heart of Erlangen’s old town. The ZAM workshops are open to anyone who likes to get stuck in and ‘think with their hands’. Run by a non-profit organisation, supported by the city of Erlangen and supported by a committed community, it is a unique space for ideas and encounters.
To mark the international figuren.theater.festival and the official opening, the schauspiel erlangen ensemble, under the direction of choreographer Sergiu Matis, will explore the new spaces in a dance intervention entitled ‘Nocturnes for restlessness’. Having become restless in their individual bodies, the ensemble interacts with the conditions on site and searches for a communal body awareness. When does restlessness become productive? What landscapes does the body create?
The open workshops will prepare programmes and workshops related to figures, images and objects for the festival.
