Loci Kollektiv (DE)

In a video walk through the Villa VILLIBALD in the north of Nuremberg, the Loci collective tells the contrasting life stories of two former residents of the house: Emilie Löb and Gabriele Lehmann. The two women never met and yet they have left their mark on the rooms of the house. Traces of careers, success and belonging, but also of loneliness, marginalisation and crime. Visitors are invited to use their smartphones and headphones to search for connections at the original location: Between different life choices in the face of Nazi terror. Between power and powerlessness. Between individual fates and universal longings. But above all, between the past and the present.

Loci is an interdisciplinary collective that uses artistic means to create places of remembrance. They design immersive, multimedia productions that straddle the border between theatre, exhibition, audio walk and augmented reality. For their work, they research original locations and create an unusual and creative approach to the past.

A fully charged smartphone with a QR code scanner and headphones that are compatible with the smartphone are required to take part in the video walk. Headphones can also be borrowed on site if required. If you do not have a smartphone, there are a few devices available to borrow. Up to four people can start the video walk every 20 minutes. The tickets are linked to a specific start time, which you can select when purchasing your ticket. Last admission at 5.40 pm.
