Nocturnes for restlessness
A dancing intervention by schauspiel erlangen in cooperation with the international figuren.theater.festival at ZAM (Centre for Exchange and Making). For the official opening of ZAM, choreographer Sergiu Matis creates a performance with members of the ensemble of schauspiel erlangen. Restless in their individual bodies, the ensemble interacts with the on-site conditions and searches for a collective sense of the body. When does restlessness become productive? What landscapes does the body create?
Romanian choreographer Sergiu Matis was born in Cluj-Napoca in 1981. He received his
dance training at the Liceul de Coregrafie in Cluj and at the Mannheim Academy of Dance and began his career as a professional dancer at Tanztheater Nürnberg. He has been living and working in Berlin since 2008. His choreographies are presented nationally and internationally, including at SZENE Salzburg and PACT Zollverein.
