Akhe (RU)
White Cabin
Can the audience influence what happens on stage simply by being there? Can the action on stage in turn control the will of the audience? Is it possible to transfer the action on stage directly into the thoughts of the audience? The protagonist of this classic performance poses these questions while being irritated and manipulated by her fellow actors. Absurd moments and poetic images are projected, playfully animated and constantly questioned.
The inventors, creators, artists and alchemists of the Akhe “Engineering Theatre” have been regular guests at the international figuren.theater.festival for over 20 years. After the start of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, the members of the group fled St Petersburg and currently live in France and Finland. Now the production “White Cabin”, with which they were first seen in Erlangen in 2003, is being staged once again. As in 2003, they are joined in the revival by Nuremberg based actress Barbara Seifert, who has been friends with Akhe for twenty years. “A journey into the interior of the imagination, so poetic, so multi-layered and full of humour that one can only marvel in amazement.” (Erlanger Nachrichten, 14 May 2003)
Please note: Stage fog is used in the production.
