Theater Anna Rampe + Theater Zitadelle (DE)
Neeweißnicht und Rosenrot
Based on the fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm
Rich in fantasy and detached from the usual clichés of fairy tales, Anna Rampe, whose real name is Anna Wagner-Fregin, tells her very own story of Snow-White, Rose-Red, the prince and a cunning dwarf, always asking herself who actually owns the world. With plenty of suspense, wit and original characters, she adapts the fairy tale about two unequal sisters in such a surprising, charming and entertaining way, masterfully combining puppetry and acting, that the original by the Brothers Grimm still flashes through but appears in a completely new light.
Anna Wagner-Fregin studied puppetry at the “Ernst Busch” Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin and graduated in 2005. She then worked for three years at the “theater junge generation” in Dresden before setting up her own theatre, Theater Anna Rampe, in 2008. In 2018, she and her husband, Daniel Wagner (Theater Zitadelle), opened the venue “Theater im Bergmannkiez” in Berlin Kreuzberg. “Neeweißnicht und Rosenrot” was awarded the Ikarus 2023 by the Youth Jury of the Jugendkulturservice Berlin – an award for outstanding theatre productions for children and young audiences.
