We enter the realm between day and night, where reality and dreams meet. In the evening we hear and see differently than during the day, we dream with our eyes open. Is there a colourful carpet dancing? Is there a curtain floating? Can we trust our senses? Perhaps we shouldn’t even try to find a logical explanation, but rather dive boldly into this unknown world!

“Quarter to Night” gently encourages its audience to take the plunge. The stage becomes a playground for fantastic phenomena. And it’s not as scary as you might think. With fantastic visual and acoustic ideas, florschütz & döhnert play with the imagination of their audience in such a likeable and funny way that you can hardly wait for bedtime.

florschütz & döhnert is an independent group from Berlin that tours internationally with their children’s plays. Melanie Florschütz studied puppet theatre at the HMDK in Stuttgart, Michael Döhnert is a musician and composer. They are pioneers of children’s theatre in Germany. Since 2004, the duo has been exploring a visual, action-orientated pictorial language that works without text and tells stories associatively. Since 2012, florschütz & döhnert have been conceiving and developing their theatre productions with light artist and director Joachim Fleischer. Most recently, they presented “BIG BOX & kleines Orchester” at the festival in Erlangen in 2023.
