Szenenstudien I
Insights into the study program Contemporary Puppetry (2nd year)
Students from the second year of the Contemporary Puppetry course present a scene study with a focus on large puppets, based on scenes from the play “A Disentanglement in Spokane”, freely adapted from Martin McDonagh.
Mrs Carmichael lost her hand many years ago in a terrible incident in Spokane, Washington. She vowed to find it again. In her years of searching, she has come across many hands, but not hers. Now, in a hotel room in Tarlington, she meets a pair of small-time crooks, Marylin and Toby, who claim to have found it. Has Mrs Carmichael’s search finally come to an end? When hotel receptionist Mervyn gets involved in the hand affair, a showdown ensues.
Afterwards, there will be a discussion between theatre makers, students and teachers to encourage creative exchange and provide inspiration for current and future projects.
